During my tenure as a member of the surveyor section of APELCIDLA, I held the position that what was needed was a requirement that licensees be required to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the VAC regulations.  The majority of enforcement cases then and now are related to not following the regulations rather than lack of training in the respective field.  My opinion has not changed.

The so-called CE Credit semimars held by the various presenters are a farce.  I quit attending them because they only gloss over the subject, and the fees are outrageous for the small bit of gain.

I, as well as most surveyors, try to stay abreast of new technology and legal changes just as a means of survival.  We don't need to waste time and money on useless seminars to maintain what would become a priviledge instead of a license.
