I have learned more about my profession by practice than I ever did in a class room.  This is a feel-good idea that may sound useful, but that will produce very limited benifit to the engineer or to the public.  I am a regular reader of publications of ASCE, SEI, AISC, ACI, etc. and spend an inordinate amount of time keeping up to date on ever changing codes and evolving technologies.  CE will not help.
