CE - 40 hours per week

With each new project I work on comes new challenges, requirements, technology, and codes.  I continue my education every day that I walk into the office.  I don't think an additional 8 hours/year is really going to improve my capabilites.  8 hours/yr is a joke and there's not much bang for all the bucks that its going to cost.  If they really think CE is needed, then the requirement should be 3 or 4 times more than that.  An engineering degree teaches you how to think and apply.  A PE license proves that you can do that.  If safety is the bottom line, then the board should be more worried about the engineering work that is being performed by non-licensed engineers and the cases where un-stamped drawings are allowed.
