Help Curb Carbon Pollution in Virginia

To Whom it May Concern:

I support Governor McAuliffe's leadership in the fight against climate change. I urge the Department of Environmental Quality to use its authority to:

  • Leverage the strongest available science to create a rule to significantly reduce carbon pollution from Virginia's power plants
  • Invest in wind and solar power and energy efficiency
  • Help vulnerable communities that are disproportionally impacted by the climate crisis

We in Virginia are already experiencing the devastating effects of climate change, including drought, extreme heat and dangerous flooding due to rising sea levels.  This increasingly puts people and property at risk.

I stand with the governor and the Department of Environmental Quality in your efforts to implement a plan to cap carbon pollution and expand our clean energy economy. Thank you for caring about the people of Virginia and for helping us to protect the beauty and health of our environment.

Sincerely,
