Opposed to dry needling by PTs

I am opposed to PTs doing dry needling. I have had patients who have been injured by PTs doing dry needling. Dry needling is simply a style of acupuncture and should be recognized as such. It is misleading to the patients, and it is harmful to the reputation of acupuncture. If PTs want to practice acupuncture, then they should be required to have the same amount of training as acupuncturists. In order for me to become an acupuncturist, I had to do over 3000 hours of training to get my Master's Degree in Traditonal Chinese Medicine. Many PTs are doing acupuncture after a weekend of training, and this is quite simply dangerous and irresponsible.
