I am a Chiropractor and a licensed Acupuncturist here in Austin, TX, back in 2007, I took a weekend class with Yuntao Ma, of BioMedical Acupuncture Instutute, he conned me over $1900 for something I learned in Chiropractic school, so if you PTs continue to quote his class and his sayings that dry needling is another intervention from him, it is bogus, he is an con-acupuncturist "red-coat" who now labels himself as a dry needling expert yet he is nothing more than a con-artist who takes people's money and runs to another city and do it all over again.
