Not enough education for PT to do dry needling

The short curriculum required for PTs that would allow them to perform dry needling is not adequate for affective treatment and safety of the patients' conditions. Acupuncture is thousands of years old in its history and many years of training were necessary for us to treat our patients in the correct manner. The level of education and the small amount of clinical hours required for PTs to do dry needling is not nearly sufficient enough for them to have an in depth knowledge of this and could be severely harmful for the patients as well and also it could put our acupuncture profession at risk as well.
