Dry Needle is not the Physical Therapist scope of practise

Physical therapy is disigned of a kind of healthcare profression that use manipulation, exercises and modalities for non-invasive treatment. Dry needle is one kind of acupuncture technique, pierce human skin and invade into human body. This should not be the physical therapists' scope of practice! Acupuncture needle is acupuncturist exclusive medical device. FDA regulation indicates that acupuncture needles should only be sold to licensed acupuncturist or medical doctor. Just like we can't buy and use scalpel. Everyone use a scalpel on a patient is practising medicine, should have a medical doctor's license. Everyone use an acupuncture needle on a patient is practising acupuncture, no matter what name you call, this behavior is acupuncture! Everyone using acupuncture needle should have acupuncture or medical doctor's license!
