Dry Needling Regulation

Dry needling is an acupuncture practice scope that should be respected as a profession. Acupuncture is a treasure of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Anyone who practices or performs Dry Needling should have proper training for 4 years at and acupuncture school; consequently, we won’t put patients in danger. Acupuncture shouldn't abused by any other profession such a physical therapists or any other profession without an acupuncture diploma from an acupuncture school and from the NCCAOM.

The NYS Massage Therapy Board extremely prohibits massage therapy to use electric stimulation to treat patients. Although, some of them have an electric stimulation certificate. The Massage Therapy Board acknowledges that electric stimulation is a physical therapy practice procedure.

I urge the physical therapy board to set up a regulation to discipline physical therapy and not to invade any other professional practice scope.
