In Support of Dry needle regulations

As a patient of both dry needle and acupuncture I would like to share my experience with the board of physical therapy. After injurying my right knee (ACL & MCL) I was treated by 3 different physical therapists to rehab after surgery. A year and a half passed and I had not regained full strength or ROM. I began treatment with my 4th therapist who treated me with dry needling and I was finally able to make positive gains in my rehab and begin to run and return to normal activity again. Three years after I ruptured my L4-5 and began dry needling with doctor approval to alleviate residual pain and numbness. During my rehab time I also began to see an acupuncturist  that gave me temporary relief but not long term affects to return to normal day to day functions. Both maybe able to benefit the health of the patient but in my case, the long term benefits from dry needling far out surpassed those of acupuncture.
