I am a regular acupuncture patient and have also had physical therapy on numerous occasions. I personally do not agree with allowing PTs with only 30 hours of training to perform "dry needling". Acupuncture is a specialty that requires years of training and experience so allowing PTs to perform needling only dumbs down the specialty. It seems this country is dumbing down just about everything these days! Education, as much as it costs, still plays a critical role in treatment and especially medical type procedures such as this.
I am AGAINST allowing physical therapists doing what highly skilled acupuncturists have earned the right to perform as a result of their years of training.
I hope this matter is seriously considered.
Thank you.
