I have observed dry needling during rotations and recieved it as a PT treatment. I have seen and experienced the immediate effects of this modality and I strongly support the use of dry needling by physical therapists. PTs have extensive knowledge of the musculoskeletal system, musculoskeletal pathology, and trigger point identification and this knowledge combined with the specific training should allow them to use this technique.
