Dry Needling

I have been seeing Laurie Johnson, Physical Therapist, at the The Therapy Network in Norfolk, Virginia, for about 3 years for treatment of TMD (Temporo Mandibular Disorder) at the advice of my dentist, Dr. Carol Morgan and Dr. Steven Gershon, a pain specialist, who treated me with Botox injections in my massetter & temporal muscles & thereafter with injections in my neck, upper back & shoulders for pain. Nothing really helped.

Then I overheard Laurie talking to another patient about dry needling & asked her about it & she told me Dr. Gershon did not approve this procedure.  I then had Dr. Teachey refer me back to Laurie for dry needling & have made such great strides in improving my condition.  Laurie has been such a great factor in improving my TMD and she knows that the weather also has a factor in my recovery. She has helped me with the dry needling to the point that sometimes I feel so good I dont need to come in.  At the beginning, the dry needling was very painful, but I told her to do it because I knew it would help me in the long run.

I believe dry needling is a great tool to TMD & TMJ recovery.
