Opposing PT scope of practice to include dry needling!

I stand with those opposing allowing PTs to practice dry needling. This practice devalues the ancient practice of acupuncture, as well as puts at risk the clients who might not understand that the needling that they might receive from a PT, who has been certified to practice with a few hundred hours of training, is nothing like the specific skills and various techniques that a licensed acupuncturist- who has undergone a few THOUSAND hours of training. In addition to the myofascial relief that an acupuncturist can provide with this type of needling, there's a much larger context being considered, taking into account only ONLY the client's specific pain pattern, but also the greater message of this presentation but also the constitution of the client themselves. To do anything less than this is to put the client at risk, and to fundamentally attempt to use acupuncture techniques without proper licensure.
