In support of dry needling

Physical Therapists undergo extensive continuing education and significant training before being certified to perform dry needling techniques.  There is nothing unsafe about the way it is practiced in the clinic.  Extreme measures are taken to ensure cleanliness for the patient (and provider), and as experts in physiology and anatomy, safety is at the very highest level for patients opting to receive treatment.  Dry needling has been shown to be very effective in the treatment of trigger points for patients with chronic pain, and in anyone with active trigger points that can be brought on post motor vehicle accident, as well.  Physical Therapists are in a position to help a significant amount of this patient population, and it would be doing a disservice to our patients if PT's would not be able to treat the patient with all available techniques to get them better.
