By definition criminals do not follow laws so there is no impact on criminals by limiting law abiding citizens from carrying guns to protect themselves and their loved ones.  What banning guns does do is help to facilitate the criminals by eliminating their victims' ability to defend themselves.

The state legislature has set laws in place for a reason.  The Governor's attempt to undermines those laws only serves to limit the ability of honest law abiding people to defend themselves.
