Licensing laws and regulations are set in place by the appropriate bodies in the Great State of Virginia as well as others, and these must be practical, accepted and respected, 

Under current law, it is illegal for anyone other than a licensed acupuncturist to practice acupuncture and for good reason. To enable others to bypass Virginia acupuncture laws to practice "dry needling" is irresponsible intrinsically and sets a dangerous precedent to the many medical professions that are, together with the general public, protected by scope-of-practice-laws.
