Commenter: a virginian travelling in germany, sad fellow right now

when the commonwealth becomes someone's private playground. or becoming the king of virginia.

i just happen to be travelling right now in another country with a colourful history concerning gun control. a guy who looked sort of like charly chaplin creatively skirted german laws and the weimar constitution to create the most abhorent society imaginable.

?the systematic and slow process of disarming law-abiding citizens began years before that mustachioed guy brought the world's attention to his actions. innocuous at first, and then increasingly heavy handed, the gradual disarmament of lawfull and contemplative citizens assured the rise to power of the dictator that brought the world its latest world war.

?while i don't intend to imply that governor macaluife is remotely akin to that charlie chaplin looking character, his actions parrellel those that preceded ww II.

?emergency proclomations where no emergency exists? check!

never let a crisis go to waste while advancing a personal agenda? check!

?repay a billionaire who gave you bunches of money to help get elected? check!  i don't care if it was over or under the tabletop - such a repayment is the action of a rogue and scoundrel.

?learn from history or be ever doomed to repeat it. the israelies learned. the guns and bullets of israelie citizens protect their society so often it has ceased to become newsworthy. leastwise for the mdeia that is in lockstep - or goosestep - with the current regime.

?rescind the emergency decreee.

?cancel this regulatory action.

?admonish the governor to never again act like a tinhorn dictator. this is virginia. not washington, dc. and should the staffer of one or more legislators read this contribution, i'm talking about you. the legislature should admonish the governor for not acting in consonance with the rule of this and. that, and craft some consequences that can result from future unconstitutional endeavors.

?such as defunding that armed security detail that the governor goes nowhere without! he is perfectly fine with guns being present to protect his backside. but he does'nt want his subjects to have the same ability to protect themselves.
