This ban is a political and insulting move by the governor to push his anti-gun agenda.  Is this at the behest of billionaire Bloomberg?  There is no emergency and the governor's power to declare this executive privilage should be reserved for natural or economic disasters.  To use this tool as a political hammer is tantamount to ignoring the will of the citizens which have overwhelmingly supported gun rights to the law abiding.  Unless you can staff every government building throughout with armed security, all that has been done is declare the best targets for muggers and terrorists who will not obey such laws.
