Dry needling license only needs 54 hours training to become qualified to practice on patients, isn't it a joke?! Even Deploma of Remedial Massage needs one year full time studying at TAFE, how come the needles can be used on human body only after 54 hours training? Is it really safe for the public? Acupuncturists have to finish 4-5 years full time study in the university to get the degree, after graduation they need to get registered at the association firstly, then finally they can start to practice on patients. Dry needling license is just a huge joke to the degree course in the universities. If dry needling can be registered, why do people need to take 4 years in uni instead of 54 hours?!
Take example from my own experience, I met a lady without medicine knowledge 3 years ago, who studied 2 weeks and got the dry needling license and practised on people as acupuncture. This can cause huge confusion to the patients! Obviously it is extremely unfair to acupuncturists!
