Commenter: William Browning Rucker Jr; Virginian.

It is immoral to disarm a Citizen.

The constant bombardment of regulations and propaganda designed to frustrate the efforts of law abiding Citizens to exercise their Constitutionally protected, inalienable rights is not aligned with Virginian values.  It needs to stop.  The government exists to protect the rights of her individual Citizens, not to attack them.  It is not ok for the government to use the Citizens’ own resources against them.  The Citizenry should not have to dedicate time and resources struggling to protect itself from its own government, its own agent.  Yet, here we are.

As is often the case, those who propose to further restrict our rights do not even have a superficial justification for attempting to do so.  The statistical evidence regarding an armed Citizenry and crime is overwhelming, but rather than discuss that let us remain clear in our thinking.  Regardless of statistics, the act of disarming a person is in itself an act of violence.  Government violence against its Citizens isn’t only contra to the secular law of our great Country, it is immoral.

Please extended the comment period for another 30 days so that some of the members of our community will at least have a minimum amount of time to hear about the existence of these latest proposed regulations.  Please consider what is at stake when politicians propose “emergency” decrees, or any other vessel specifically designed to limit the hard-won rights of Virginians.  I would prefer that my resources be used to protect the rights of Virginians rather than frustrate them.  I would prefer that my government agents work proudly and uncompromisingly to prevent any further efforts of any person or institution to belittle or disregard my freedoms, the freedoms of my Countrymen, or the freedoms of future Virginians.

These regulations should not be approved.  The emergency regulation should be withdrawn.

Thank you.
