Does nothing to promote public safety or general welfare

This regulation infringes on the right to bear arms protected by the Constitution's second amendment and does so without improving public safety.  There is no statistical correlation between states with increased gun control and lower homicide rates.  This is a regulation looking for a problem as an excuse, not one passed to solve a current problem, and in all likelihood is simply political pay-back for Bloomberg's campaign contributions to the current governor.  Signs banning guns do absolutely nothing to prevent those intent on killing others from walking right past the sign and ignoring it, while they absolutely prevent law-abiding citizens from having the opportunity to defend themselves and others; this regulation will merely create another "victim-rich" zone, and as we've seen over the past few years, those are a tragedy in the waiting.
