I cannot support the proposed change to allow applicants for voter registration to no longer affirm U.S. citizenship, or the lack of felony convictions, or the absence of any legal mental competency ruling against the applicant. Opening the door to voter fraud in this manner is extremely poor public policy and should not proceed. As I understand it, this proposed change violates the Code of Virginia as well as the Virginia Constitution, and that in itself makes the proposal itself fraudulent. I implore you to NOT make the check boxes of the proposed form listed above optional.
