Do not change the form so that whether to state that one is a U.S. citizen, or have any felony charges against one or lack the mental capacity to vote is an optional item. This approach is contrary to Virginia law and the Virginia Constitution.and elminates significant safeguards against fraudulent registration. A positive statement of citizenship, felony convictions and comoetency forces the applicant to address these issues.. If the applicant is found to be lying, these are firm grounds for prosecution. Merely signing an "affirmative statement" is not a valid substitute, PERIOD!!

Please reconsider your implementing this new form.
