In order to vote, a person must be a citizen of the United States and should be required to affirm that they are a citizen. Making it optional to check the boxes makes no sense. If you are going to have boxes to check it should be required or else why have the boxes. If state law requires a person to be a citizen, anyone voting should be glad to state or check that they are citizens, and are not convicted felons.
