As a proud Virginia citizen and voter, I applaud these proposed changes to the voter registration form. Our democracy is strongest when everyone participates and the right to vote is a constitutionally protected right of every citizen. Rather than using technical issues to disenfranchise voters, we should be doing everything possible to make sure that eligible citizens are able to register and vote.

The proposed changes are an important step to addressing this problem.

I strongly support the proposed changes and hope members of the State Board of Elections will ratify them following the public comment period.
