Please keep VA a state where integrity is important and a voter can be assured that their vote counts.  I have been proud of our state and it's rigid requirements for declaring citizenship -- under oath [with penalties for perjury]  when registering to be a voter.  In over 20 years I have served as Officer of Election, Asst. Chief of Election, & Chief of Election.   All of our training has been to prevend fraud, deceit and abuse of the election system.  This is one of our strong points as a state.  We don't want to do things like IL and have people look down on us like we do Chicago.   I am frankly SHOCKED that the State Board of Election would even entertain such a notion that they didn't require people to declare their citizenship.
