There are only two groups currently prohibited from voting: convicted felons and illegal aliens. There are good reasons for both prohibitions. Felons have committed a crime against the government's laws that deem them to have relinquished their voting priviledges by their actions. Illegal aliens are not citizens, and only citizens can vote. If we do not maintain the citizen requirement, then every visitor from any foreign country could vote while visiting in the United States. The fact that an unelected board would even consider such monumental changes which by law belongs to the General Assembly says that all members of the State Board of Elections should resign immediately!
