Repeal TRAP Regulations
The TRAP regulations were never intended to protect women seeking abortion-related healthcare. They were a dishonest, thinly-veiled attempt to make abortion-related healthcare significantly more difficult for Virginians to access. Almost all of the proposed regulations call for renovations that would have no bearing on patient safety, but would be prohibitively expensive and difficult to achieve, such as expanding the size of closets. At their core, the TRAP regulations were a dishonest way to bypass Roe v. Wade, and make abortions difficult to access, almost to the point of impossibility.
I strongly urge members of the Board to do what is right and preserve access to Constitutionally-protected medical care. The Board should not use their power to enforce underhanded, politically-motivated regulations that would have disasterous reprecussions for the healthcare of Virginians. Repeal the TRAP regulations.
