I support regulations on parental notification & opt-out of sexually graphic, explicit materials

As a husband and a father of two boys, I find it very disturbing that children can be exposed to such graphic and explicit sexual materials in our school system as part of the so-called "curriculum". I first of all call upon the school administrators and teachers who are tasked with developing curriculums to realize that they have a responsibility to the children in their classrooms and to their parents to be very careful in terms of the types of materials they introduce to them. I fully support regulations that do the following:

1. allow parents to review class curriculums in detail anytime upon their request

2. require any such sexually explicit or graphic materials to be clearly identified for the parents

3. allows the parents to have their children opt out of assignments that utilize such materials and substitute an assignment that is based upon non-sexually explicit or graphic materials

Thank you.
