The trial of Kermit Gosnel in Pennsylvania (which has been going on for about a week or so) should show us that abortion clinic regulations are essential to making sure women who are in perhaps one of the most vulnerable situations imaginable are protected from terribly unhealthy conditions. The stigma attached to abortion practitioners has helped to ensure that those working in abortion clinics are not going to be the best and brightest of the medical field which, coupled with the thought of poor regulation, worries me immensely.
