TRAP

TRAP is abhorent. While on the surface it may seem as though Virginia lawmakers are doing what is best for the female bodied people of the state, they are dead wrong. The restrictions and regulations put in place by TRAP do nothing but put an undoe burden upon anyone seeking an abortion in Virginia. Abortion within the first trimester is one of the safest medical procedueres that exist. The statistics speak for themselves and no new regulations need to be put in place to make them safer. Secondly, the TRAP regulations will cause all but one of the health clinics in Virginia that provide abotions to close. These regulations do not just affect those seeking abortions, it affects anyone trying to get any reproductive health related medical procedure or test done. It seems assinine to create regulations to fix a non-existent problem when the regulations in turn will cause more harm than abortion has ever done to a living, fully autonomous, sentient, person.

TRAP regulations are nothing more than an attempt to put the rights of a fetus above that of the person carrying it. The arguments for TRAp are flimsy since they can not be upheld by science nor statistic. Shame on the Virginia Legislators, shame on those that approve of TRAP, and shame on anyone that tries to regulate what someone does with their own body.
