Unnecessary Regulations Targeting a Single Procedure

The procedure conducted by abortion providers is no less invasive than other, simlar procedures offered in doctors and even dentist offices.

For example at many OB/GYN offices you can have

Cryotherapy - Freezing off parts of your Cervix

"non-surgical" Serialization - Where instruments are used to place a blocking device the fallopian tubes

Destruction of the endometrial layer - where electric current is used to prevent bleeding/periods

D&C for an incomplete miscarriage - Fixing a natural abortion...

And the list can go on.

All of these cary the same risks, and some of them are even more specialized than the D&C that is used by most abortion providers.  So why are abortion providers single out?

So why were these decisions made?

These were decisions were not made to increase public safety, not to 'clean up' abortion clinics that have the same violations as thousands of dentist and doctors offices that perform even more complex procedures.  These were decisions made that have not looked at the epidemiological data available that demonstrates the consistent safety of this procedure, which is generally safer than giving birth...which you can do at home or a birthing center, both of which are not governed by hospital regulations.

These decisions were made by someone who's either religious beliefs, which are not shared by the entire population, or someone who does not believe in the ability of women of child-bearing years to make a decision for herself with the aid of sound medical advice.

I reject these onerous regulations on abortion providers created by those in power who do not have any experience in Gynecology beyond being born, having sex and children.

I reject these regulations created by those in power who have no ability to interpret data to the contrary of what they believe about abortion providers and their patients.

I reject these regulations developed by those who wantonly impose their religious values on a population that may or may not share their beliefs.

I reject these regulations from those who preach from a pulpit of reducing the encroachment of government into our lives, but then abuses their power to do the opposite.

I reject this abuse of power into the medical decisions, which are against even the best medical advice.
