Trap Regulations hurt women

TLet’s drop the pretense that the goal of the proposed TRAP regulations is to protect women. The goal is to put the government, not the woman herself, in control of her body. The TRAP regulations are in the same category as the trans-vaginal ultrasound that made Virginia a national laughing stock and has been proposed by the same people who have succeeded in forcing a woman to have an ultrasound against her will.

Allow me to remind those who believe a woman’s reproductive rights should be under the control of the government that 70% of the American public believes Roe v. Wade should stand, the most since 1989, according to data from a WSJ/NBC News poll. The electorate and time are on the side of women, who will eventually have control of their most intimate and personal decisions. I trust that women will be free to make their own reproductive choices sooner rather than later in Virginia, beginning with the elimination of the TRAP proposal.
