Protecting women's health through regulation of abortion facilities

I strongly support the current regulations on abortion centers approved overwhelmingly by the Board of Health.  These regulations should be made permanent and continue to include the strongest standards.

Why would any agency dealing with surgical procedures, where life-threatening situations are always possible, object to regulations designed to support the health of the the woman undergoing surgery?  Who benefits when health standards are not stringent?

The current regulations appear to be reasonable, common-sense measures to ensure that life-saving equipment is on hand, infections are prevented, and clear written policies and building guidelines are in place.  I support the Commonwealth's upholding those regulations on a permanent basis for the health and safety of women.
