Health regulations and licensing for Abortion clinics

I strongly support the regulations and licensing as proposed by the state Health Dept and approved by the Board of Health and our Governor. I was at the Board of Health meeting in Sept 2012 , and the vote was 13- 2 in favor of all the regulaions. These regulations are needed to protect the health of women undergoing a common medical procedure with anethesia. There were over 25,000 abortions in VA in 2011 per the VA Dept of Health statistics.

Women have the right to believe the state will protect medical protocol and basic medical sanitation. No one expects blood in tubing, on dirty sponges used to sanitize equipment, and lack of training in key personnel.  After hearing the almost 100 findings at 8 clinics inspected by the Dept of Health at this meeting, I strongly urge you to keep the medical regulations as proposed and approved by the physicians, nurses and professionals on the Board of Health.  Thank you.
