To the Virginia Board of Social Services, 

I am a voter and social worker living in Virginia.   Currently, there are more than 1,000 children in the Virginia foster care system waiting for forever homes yet well qualified parent are being turned away based on factors such as their sexual orientation. All children deserve a loving, forever family.  I firmly believe that decisions about prospective parents should be based on the best interest of the child, not on discriminatory factors unrelated to good parenting. When agencies act in the stead of the state, they should be bound by principals of non-discrimination even if they are private agencies.
 

In this state children, not politics, must come first!
