My name is Melanie Spinner and I am a voter in Virginia. There needs to be non-discrimination regulations when considering a couple to be foster parents. All children deserve a loving home. Currently, there are more than 1,000 children in Virginia foster homes waiting to be adopted. Decisions on perspective parents should be based on the best interest of the child, not on discriminatory factors unrelated to parenting. When agents act in the stead of the state, they should be bound by prinicpals of non-discrimination even if they are private agencies.
