sexual orientation and good parenting

Adoption and foster care agencies have a duty to operate in the best interest of a child's needs. By preventing gay and lesbian headed families from providing love and support to kids in need goes against the mission of such an agency. Oftentimes gay and lesbian prospective parents are the best fit for kids who feel different. There are over 1,000 kids waiting to be adopted in Virginia. By telling otherwise suitable parents that they cannot adopt or foster children because of who they love is discriminatory to those prospective parents and is not in the best interest of the children the state claims to be finding homes for. Of all agencies, the Virginia Board of Social Services should know that children come first. Leave politics up to the politicians.
