I have worked in foster care for 3 years, stabilizing and counseling foster children in the state of Virginia. Before this I interned with the Virginia Department of Social Services, helping license child placing agencies.  I can say without a doubt, there are many children in Virginia, in need of safe, supportive, loving homes.  And simply put there are just not enough homes to put them in.    

I also know many members of the gay community who have safe, supportive, loving homes.  To deny same sex couples the right to adopt is not only an injustice to their rights as people and Americans, it is an injustice to the children in this state.
