When I learn that Virginia currently would choose to place a child with a dysfunctional heterosexual couple, alcoholics, or single parents when there are two loving parents who happen to be of the same sex who would love to parent one child or a couple of children, I have to question the state's motive. It would appear to place ideology over the best interests of of children-- children who by definition have already been traumatized in one or more ways.
