Discrimination and Adoption...

How many thousands of children do we have in our own local metro area in need of foster care and/or adoptive families, homes and loving environments? Clearly it is not in the best interest of those children for Virginia to regress policies making it even more difficult for these children to have loving families. With proper screening and criminal background checks, akin to minimal security clearances asked of those who drive and/or teach these same children for our schools, children can and should be placed with a loving and providing parent(s), period. They need love, security and stability. Adding discriminating tactics to this process would only serve to add yet another painful obstacle in the already unstable journey for these children. I trust VA will do what is right for these kids who have no voice of their own.
