As Director of a RN Program, I value any changes that would improve educational outcomes.  I do seek some clarification on some of the proposed actions.  Faculty to student clinical ratios presently regulate the number of students to faculty at any given clinical rotation.  Since clinical site agreements are mutually agreed upon between the site facility and the school, clarificaton for further requirements is needed.  When defining "direct client care", input and suggestions from the nursing community and educational institutions should be considered so as not to further limit appropriate clinical sites for student learning.  If new clinical training sites meet Board requirements, is it necessary to notify the Board when all sites are submitted on annual reports?  Finally, what requirements would the Board propose to close a nursing program that, if in place today, would ensure better quality instruction to students enrolled in nursing programs?   Will opportunities for due process and corrective action be incorportated into the proposed change?
