I think that this is a big mistake.  I know that some people may think that we do not learn anything.  I have news for them.  Most of us that have the desire to become an Rn in this fashion are Full time working parents.  I am an LPN in a Critical Care unit.  I have learned more than some of the new licensed RN's coming out of school.  If someone wants to devote the time to going through Excelsior and obtaining their RN, they should be allowed to do this.  It is not easy and takes a lot of dedication by the student.  Anyone that can go and self teach and learn this info is more dedicated than you know.  Virginia will lose a lot of good potential RN that already have experience as a nurse.  These nurses care to exceed, unlike the ones that go to school to be a nurse for job security.  We need nurses that CARE.  Thanks for your consideration......Karen Phillips
