The Virginia Board of Education will conduct a public hearing on February 24, 2000 to receive public comment concerning the proposed Standards of Learning for Computer / Technology Skills. These standards affirm the Board's commitment to high academic standards and ensure mastery of skills that will result in students who are both computer literate and competent in the application of technology tools to support their learning needs. The proposed standards may be reviewed at the Department of Education's Web site at www.pen.k12.va.us. Speakers are limited to three minutes. Written copy of comments is requested but not required. Comments by mail and e-mail are welcome. comments will be received until March 21, 2000. Persons requesting services of an interpreter for the deaf should do so in advance. | |
