I strongly support this movement for transgender students in schools - it is a difficult time in a person's life as they are trying to figure out who they are and where they belong. I myself saw many of my classmates at that time in my life depressed, lost, turning to drugs or other dangerous activities and cutting themselves from bullying even though we were in a well off area in one of the best high schools in Fairfax county.

It is not the school system's job to force religious ideals or traditional ideals on kids who just want to explore their identity. Parents are free to think whatever they want, but to oppose a bill that advocates for anti bullying and support of students? That's advocating for the continued terrorizing of these kids who only need support. I strongly support this document because people should be allowed to think whatever they want but they should not be allowed to terrorize other people just because they are different.

Schools need to stand up for these kids. The outdated and abrasive opinions by traditional parents who think "God made us this way" are harmful - they can teach that in their own home, but if their kid turns out to be transgender and needs support, at least they could get it from school. Additionally, a public school is not a place for enforcing religious beliefs. Let children learn in a safe environment regardless of how they are different. If they are not accepted at home they deserve to be accepted SOMEWHERE. This could save lives.
