Science and medical research necesitate health and safety regulation

Research has estimated that there are 30,000 “minor” complications and 6,000 “serious” complications each year from unsafe abortions. Other official government reports have shown that abortion injuries are under reported and that the real number of minor and serious injuries could be as high as five times those estimates. Given that medical science has shown that medically necessary abortions, meaning those prescribed for the safety of the mother, are extremely rare to almost nonexistent given today’s medical advances and standards. These facts necessitate that high standard comparable to that of a surgical operating hospital should be required for abortion facilities. Women’s safety should supersede the profits of an abortion facility.
