Emergency State Agency Gun Ban -- Bad Idea

Banning guns from VA state agency properties is a bad idea.  It does nothing to protect citizens and may very well have the opposite effect by messaging to terrorists and any others bent on killing a large number of people easily, that VA's state properties are easy, soft targets.  Attack...you'll e unopposed...the govenor guarantees it.

I also can find no evidence that there is a problem with private citizens carrying guns on state agency properties.  I can't find a single event in the past 30 years where a gun-related killing or crime took place in a VA state agency building.  None.  So what is this measure supposed to fix or is this just a political ploy to tighten the screws on responsible citizens?

If this measure is in response to the terrorist shootings in California, I submit that had anyone in the targeted group been armed, the outcome may very well have been less innocent victims killed.  The attack may not have even taken place if the perpetrators knew that some of the participants were armed or even potentially armed.

This ban should never be allowed.
