Senseless Prohibition of Concealed Carry, What Folly this rule is!

As a retired Law Enforcement Officer and Sheriff, the designation of all state buildings as "gun-free zones" is nothing more than a feel good action that is also un-Constitutional.  The only persons that will obey this law are citizens who have already passed background checks and have been found to be trustworthy.  The sign on any door that states "No Weapons Allowed" has NEVER stopped a criminal, either foreign or domestic, from entering said building and committing a crime!  It is ridiculous to even think so!  Furthermore, where is the precendent in Virginia of any act being committed to begin with where a SIGN has stopped any crime?

The rule even prevents off duty Law Enforcement Officers from carrying a weapon into local state offices such as a DMV office!  Unless there are armed guards stationed in every state office, this is prohibiting a person who might act from having the power to prevent a crime!  More FOLLY!

This is the height of folly and this prohibition must end for the safety of the public,
