I oppose new gun ban

The proposed regulations regarding the gun ban in state buildings creates a public safety hazard. To date, there have been exactly ZERO shootings in Virginia state buildings. This regulation will only serve to assist criminals and terrorists by creating victim-rich, soft targets in which nobody but the criminals and terrorists will have firearms.

Furthermore, the emergency regulation should be regarded as illegal. Absent a specific threat or pattern of violence in state buildings by Concealed Handgun License holders, there is no emergency. CHL holders are a very law-abiding group. The emergency regulations and the proposed permanent regulations only attack the Constitutional rights of these law-abiding citizens.

Governor, please keep your rule-by-emotion brand of New York politics out of Virginia. Red or Blue, Virginians deserve a government that regulates based only on the facts. In this matter, the facts show that CHL holders are not a threat and should not have their rights attacked.

Signed,

A law-abiding, born-and-raised Virginian
